Ecologix Environmental Systems manufactures an oily water filter with oil removal technology designed for wastewater treatment, called the AHP-55 Liquid Phase Vessel. It's used primarily for removing trace floating oil droplets and sheens from water primarily as a polishing media for water treated by an oil water separator. This vessel is often used as a pre-treatment step before other carbon vessels to extend their lifespan.

Where small amounts of oil need to be removed from water at lower flow rates, the AHP-55 serves well as a primary oil water separation solution.

The AHP-55 is built with durability in mind, featuring heavy-gauge domed steel with a powder-coated exterior and dual internal liners. This design prevents bulging, leaking, or rusting. A key feature is the inclusion of a 30-psi pressure relief valve and ports for sampling and pressure monitoring.

How It Works

The AHP-55 uses OrganoClay media, which is a modified clay mineral that adsorbs contaminants like oil and grease. Unlike some other filter medias, Ecologix's OrganoClay doesn't swell, which helps prevent the filter bed from blinding and allows it to operate for longer periods without needing a blend with anthracite filler for porosity.
